Last May, Ventura Charter students in grades 3-8 took the California Assessment of Student Progress and Performance (CAASPP) standardized tests which are administered online. In English Language Arts, 62% of our students Met or Exceeded Standards compared to only 53% of VUSD 3rd-8th students and 47% of 3rd-8th students statewide. In Math, 54% of VCS students Met or Exceeded Standards compared to 46% of VUSD students and 38% of students statewide. While CAASPP scores are just one measure of student progress and there is always room for improvement, we are very proud.
More importantly, 97% of VCS students report feeling safe, 98% report having friends at school, and 92% know how to work out conflicts with their classmates.
