Homeschool Information Night
Thursday, September 2nd at 7:00pm
Please RSVP to homeschool@venturacharterschool.org to attend.
Ventura Charter School serves additional students through a home-based component. Our home school program offers flexibility for families who prefer to have their children use their home as a base for learning under the direction of a credentialed teacher. Located at the school, this program offers homeschoolers the opportunity to attend school one day per week. This "Choice Day" allows children to choose from a variety of rich activities including music, drama, art, technology, and science, as well as an opportunity to socialize with other students.
Families who choose to homeschool with Ventura Charter School of Arts & Global Education have a unique opportunity to both learn at home and to be part of a nurturing school community which offers many special programs, field trips, assemblies, drama productions, camping trips, integrated arts days, outdoor education, and parent education meetings.
Additionally, parents are given access to instructional materials and are offered the opportunity to meet with a credentialed teacher on a regular basis to discuss curriculum, choose assignments, brainstorm ideas, and review student work.
This program is also an ideal choice for families who use travel and the community at large as the primary educational environment for their children. Please contact the school office at (805)648-5503 ext. 2004 or homeschool@venturacharterschool.org for more information on the program, enrollment procedures, and whether our public homeschool program would be an appropriate option to meet your child's educational needs.
