Last May, Ventura Charter students in grades 3-8 took the California Assessment of Student Progress and Performance (CAASPP) standardized tests which are administered online. In English Language Arts, 70% of our students Met or Exceeded Standards compared to only 53% of VUSD 3rd-8th students and 43% of 3rd-8th students statewide. In Math, 60% of VCS students Met or Exceeded Standards compared to 44% of VUSD students and 37% of students statewide. While CAASPP scores are just one measure of student progress and there is always room for improvement, we are very proud.
More importantly, 97.72% of VCS students report feeling safe, 97.30% report having friends at school, and 91% know how to work out conflicts with their classmates.
